Ramadan and Eid Stories:
Lailah’s Lunchbox written by me (Reem Faruqi!), illustrated by Lea Lyon. Story of a Muslim child whose classmates and teachers think she’s forgotten her lunch again! With the help of a creative librarian, she finds a way to share about Ramadan with her class.
Under the Ramadan Moon written by Sylvia Whitman, illustrated by Sue Williams: lyrical story appealing to preschoolers and beyond. One of my favorites for preschoolers
It’s Ramadan, Curious George – written by Hena Khan, was an entertaining read. Glowing Amazon reviews here!
The White Nights of Ramadan written by Maha Addasi, illustrated by Ned Gannon, beautiful heartwarming, amazingly illustrated story. Another favorite!
Party in Ramadan written by Asma Mobin Uddin, illustrated by Laura Jacobsen, v.relatable story for children fasting around people not fasting. And award-winning of quite a few awards as well!
Rashad’s Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr written by Lisa Bullard, illustrated by Holli Conger: informative, vibrant chapter-picture-book.
Night of the Moon written by Hena Khan, illustrated by Julie Paschkis: nice moon similes

Moon Watchers by Reza Jalali, illustrated by Anne Sibley O’Brian; I read it, loved, it haven’t reviewed yet, but here’s an Amazon review! It’s also published by Tilbury House Publishers, the company that’s publishing my story Lailah’s Lunchbox in 2015!

General Muslim Stories:
Time to Pray by Maha Addasi, Illustrated by Ned Gannon. Beautiful introductory book to prayer in which a young child Yasmin learns to pray from her grandmother.
Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns: A Muslim Book of Colors written by Hena Khan, illustrated by Mehrdokht Amimi : gorgeous, colorful, rhyming story. One of my favorites so far!
Ilyas and Duck Search for Allah: vibrant story that takes Ilyas on an adventure to search for Allah. Great read for curious preschoolers!
The Apple Tree by Mariam Al-Kalby review : whimsically written, whimsically illustrated!
One Green Apple : gorgeously illustrated, heart-touching story

Here’s another: MOON WATCHERS: SHIRIN’S RAMADAN MIRACLE by Reza Jalali, an Iranian Kurdish Muslim who lives in Maine. (I illustrated the book.)
Hi Anne! Yes I have been wanting to read that story for a long time! I love tilbury publishing. I actually don’t have that book available in my library so am seeing if I can get it via inter library loan- tilbury doesn’t hand out review copies. If not will buy it- I’ve seen the reviews and know it’s got awards , Congrats!:) thanks- your illustrations look beautiful!!
